South Africa's Aiden Markram is relishing the challenge of facing India again after struggling for runs in the first Test against the ICC's top-ranked side.
The Proteas won the series opener by 72 runs in Cape Town, where Markram made just five in his first knock and 34 in his second.
The 23-year-old already has centuries against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to his name, but the opener knows to expect another searching examination in the second match in Centurion.
"It was a massive step up," Markram said of his experience in the victory at Newlands.
"There's a reason why they are the number one team in the world. They have quality players in all departments.
"They tick all the boxes and they have come here to compete, which is great. For me as a young guy, it is awesome."
Markram found the boundary ropes seven times from just 43 deliveries before being caught at point by Bhuvneshwar Kumar off Hardik Pandya in South Africa's second innings.
The newcomer stood by his decision to set a brisk pace, though, backing South Africa's attack to limit the opposition's ability to score.
"I didn't want to lose the intensity that I bat at - it's something I keep close to me and gauge often," he said.
"I generally feel when I'm batting at the right intensity I move a bit better and my positions are stronger, so that's something I challenge myself to achieve. It starts in training.
"Luckily we have a great attack to face and it's never easy."
